The University of Goma informs the university community and the public that on December 31, 2025, the Ministry of Higher Education and University issued Ministerial Order No. 203/MINESURSI/CAB.MIN/SASM/MMK/2025 concerning the appointment and promotion of academic and scientific staff of universities in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

This order follows Decision No. 009/CAU/48ᵉ SO/2025 of December 18, 2025, from the Board of Administration of Universities of the Democratic Republic of Congo (CAU) regarding admission to emeritus status, appointment, and promotion of academic and scientific staff.

On behalf of the University of Goma:

Admission to Emeritus Status

-Professor KAGURU SEMACUMU, admitted to Emeritus Status, in recognition of a remarkable academic career and significant contributions to higher education and research.

Furthermore, the University of Goma is pleased to note that the Consortium for the third cycle in Medicine, comprising the University of Goma (UNIGOM), the Official University of Bukavu (UOB), and the Catholic University of Graben (UCG), is already producing concrete results.

Indeed, four of the teachers promoted to the rank of Associate Professor were previously mentored by Full Professor Muhindo Mughanda, Rector of the University of Goma, as part of this inter-university partnership.

This development demonstrates the relevance of pooling skills, strengthening doctoral training in medicine, and the effective contribution of the University of Goma to the development of academic excellence at the national level.
