University of Goma: a Tech Talk to Transform Data into Digital Impact
The Technological Innovation Center of the University of Goma (UNIGOM), in collaboration with Bridge Sats and Kwetu Best Technologies, organized a Tech Talk conference this Friday, January 30, on the Green Lake campus. This initiative is part of the dynamic promotion of emerging digital and financial technologies within the academic environment.
Under the theme “From Data to Impact: Designing Digital Solutions and Innovative Web Platforms Integrating Bitcoin and USDT,” the meeting brought together nearly a hundred students for discussions on the design of digital solutions, data exploitation, and the integration of digital financial technologies.
Data at the Heart of Digital Innovation
In the era of digital technology and artificial intelligence, the speakers emphasized the central role of data in the design of applications and web platforms capable of effectively meeting societal needs. The discussions focused on the collection, analysis, securing, and strategic use of data in an increasingly connected environment.
Gloire Wanzavalere, General Director of Bridge Sats, reminded the importance for internet users to understand how their personal information is used by digital platforms:
“The data published by users is exploited for economic purposes. It is therefore essential to know the role of data in the virtual world and to learn to protect personal information, which constitutes the business model of many digital companies,” he explained.
He also urged students to adopt a responsible digital culture and to avoid disclosing sensitive information on the Internet.
Training for the Future: An Institutional Necessity, Not an Option
Professor Ordinary Muhindo Mughanda, Rector of the University of Goma, expressed his delight at the holding of this conference and believes that students should cultivate intellectual curiosity and continuous learning:
“Digital technology is today one of the major drivers of the rapid evolution of the world. Understanding data, mastering computer systems, exploring artificial intelligence, and being open to emerging solutions are no longer options, but necessities to prepare for a bright future.”
The Rector also reminded of the University of Goma's desire to position itself as a reference player in the field of technological innovation, not only in Goma and the North Kivu province but also on a national and international scale:
“We have an obligation to provide students with an environment conducive to exchanges with the real world, so that they can fully benefit from these opportunities,” he added.
A Strategic Partnership for Technological Development
Mr. Patrice Mungara, one of the heads of the Technological Innovation Center of UNIGOM, expressed his gratitude to partners Bridge Sats and Kwetu Best Technologies for their constant commitment to strengthening the digital and technological skills of students.
Through such initiatives, the University of Goma remains committed to strengthening the link between university training and the realities of the digital and entrepreneurial world, and especially to preparing future professionals to become competent and responsible actors in the technological field.
